Do you ride English? Do you like mountain trail? Are you interested in trying a completely new discipline that you don't have to buy new tack to try? If so "Hunt Field Horse" is JUST what you've been looking for!
What is “Hunt Field Horse” all about? Hunt Field Horse is a two phase judged competition designed to highlight the ideal traits needed to make a suitable fox-hunting horse.
The first phase consists of a flat class where the horses will be judged on their ground covering stride, comfort and ease of handling in a group at all gaits. Gaited horses as well as mules are welcome to compete!
The second phase is a combination of Oregon Horse Center's world famous Mountain Trail and a working hunter class, we call it “Hunter Trail”. Horses and riders will navigate both simple trail type obstacles like bridges, gates and jumps such as stone walls, hay bales and other jumps commonly encountered when out fox hunting.
Saturday and Sunday will feature different courses, you'll want to ride both days for double the fun and double the ribbons!
You won't want to miss this completely new and unique way to have fun with your horse and friends! We can't wait to see you out here!
