All horses being led MUST wear a halter or bridle, loose horses are not permitted. All ridden horses must wear a halter or bridle, bridleless is not allowed.
BAREBACK: This is a ridden class. Horses will complete the explorer pattern bareback. No bareback pads, saddle pads or blankets are permitted. All horses must wear a halter or bridle, bridleless is not allowed.
TRICK-OR-TRAIL: This class can be led or ridden. This is a costume exhibition class, there will not be placings. All riders or handlers will follow a simple path around the Silverado trail course and receive “tricks or treats” at various locations. This class is sponsored by Big Hoss Treats!
BRIDLELESS: This is a ridden class. Horses will be ridden tacked or untacked through the Explorer Silverado pattern for that day. If the horse is seen to be behaving dangerously by the judges at any time you will be asked to dismount immediately and leave the arena. ALL horses must wear a neck rope of some type for control/safety reasons.
BACKWARDS TRAIL: This class can be led or ridden. Horses will be asked to navigate a shortened trail pattern. They will walk forwards between obstacles, then turn around and back through/over/across the obstacles as marked.
CANINE COMPANION: This is a ridden class. The rider will have their dog accompany them through the explorer pattern for that day. The class will be judged on both the ride of the pattern AND how well controlled the dog is. ALL DOGS MUST BE ON LEASH UNTIL YOU ENTER THE ARENA TO START YOUR GO.
TRAIL RIDE: This is a ridden class. Groups of 5 riders; TEAMS WILL BE DRAWN FROM A BUCKET THE NIGHT BEFORE. This is the *ONLY* fun class you can not sign up for day of. If a team member MUST scratch, the team will need to find a 5th member and add them in the office. The teams will be posted at the office in the morning the day the class runs. During the ride, the group must change leaders 5 times (every horse will be a “lead horse” through an obstacle at some point). The lead horse will move to the back of the group between obstacles until the pattern is complete. This class will use the explorer pattern for that day. This class will be judged on the group's collective ride.
MYSTERY OBSTACLE: This is a ridden class. The classic “fun” class! Who knows what we’ll have out there! Will it be loud? Will it be HUGE? Will IT BE ALIVE?! You’ll just have to make the gamble!
